Access 2010: Set the default format for datasheets

Posted November 13, 2011 by Lê Hoàng in Microsoft Office

If you usually use only one format for all of the datasheets in your Access 2010 databases, you can tweak the settings inside the program to make the datasheets appear in that exact format to save your time changing the formatting options each time a new datasheet is created. This tutorial will show you how.

1. Launch Access 2010.

2. Go to File -> Options.

3. In the Access Options, go to Datasheet.

4. On the right side of the Options window, there are several format options for you to tweak. You can choose to show or hide horizontal/vertical grid lines, set cell effects (Flat, Raised, Sunken), change the column width, and default font (size, weight, underline, italic).

5. Click the OK button at the end of the window to save the setting.

6. Save and close any open datasheets and open them again to see the changes.
