You can overcome the limited options that Windows gives you for the placement of your desktop wallpaper (center or tile).

With this setting you can move the image to an exact X,Y location on your desktop.

Click Start, Run, and type “regedit” then click on OK to start the regedit utility.

Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

Create two new STRING values of “Wallpaperoriginx” and “Wallpaperoriginy”. If the values already exist then you simply modify them.

Set the value of “Wallpaperoriginx” to equal the horizontal offset, and set the value of “Wallpaperoriginy” to equal the vertical offset. The offset is from the center of the desktop, so values can be positive and/or negative.

Reboot your PC to see the changes.

Wow! I totally did not know this was possible.

    Excellent tech-recipe!

Awesome! tweak worked like a charm... for some reason (i think it may have happened when i installed an icon position saver for when a projector resets my desktop resolution), my wallpaper was awkwardly shifted -100 in the x direction and -75 in the y. Resetting these values to zero in the registry centered the wallpaper. Thanks again!
