In Firefox 3, clicking the URL address bar selects the entire URL. The previous default action was to insert the cursor where the click occurred. Here is how to change this back to the previous setting.

Now in FF3 clicking the URL selects the entire URL. In FF2 clicking the URL inserted the cursor at the exact click location.

By adjusting the firefox configuration, this can be selected back to the previous default.

1. Type about:config as an URL in the address box
2. Click the I'll be careful, I promise button
3. Find the following preference by putting this in the filter:
browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll
4. Double-click the "true" value to change it to false.

Now, clicking in the address box should insert the cursor as expected.
