Outlook 2003: Retrieving Deleted Email Messages

Have you ever made the mistake of deleting email messages from your Deleted Items folder and then suddenly realize that you need that message? Fortunately, Outlook 2003 allows you to recover deleted items. Keep reading to find out how.

1. In the Folder list, click Deleted Items.

2. Go to the Tools menu, and click Recover Deleted Items.

3. Find the item you want to recover, and click it. To select multiple items, click one item, then hold down the CTRL key, and click additional items.

4. Click the Recover Selected Items button.

The items you selected will be returned to your Deleted Items folder. From there, you can move them to their proper location.

Note: Some items may no longer be recoverable because they have exceeded the time limit that deleted items can be stored on the server.
