Firefox 4: Move the Home Button to the Tab Bar

You can move the Home Button (as well as the back one page and forward one page) button to the tab bar customize the Firefox interface more to your liking.

1. Open Firefox.

2. Right-click on the toolbar (where the Home button is located by default) and select Customize.

3. Left-click and drag the Home button to the far left portion of the tab bar.

4. Release the left-click and the Home button will now be located on your tab bar.

Good tip, however it doesn’t stick. Using FF4.0b8, upon PC reboot, Home button reverts back to original right-sided position

Thanks for this. I hated the home button on the right side of the screen. Felt too “distant.”

Thank you. I love that firefox feels just like chrome once you get the buttons where they should go. I think every old time firefox user was like what f*ck, why are they buttons there, when they updated.

I hate Firefox 4 interface, what a stupid idea to change the design to annoy the users who liked it. I almost decided to switch to Chrome. I will do this if Firefox does this to me again. It reminds me of the interface of Office 2007 – one of the most useless attempts to create an impression something has changed by messing up the original design which in fact has never been accepted by the older users

What would be even better would be to have TWO home buttons!!

One on the left beside where the refresh and stop buttons should also be and one under the + for ‘new tab’ button! Da raa!! :)

Hey, thanks for the tip! Very hand. I’m wondering why Mozilla put it  on the right hand side…

THANK YOU!  I truly didn’t like the position the buttons were in!  I think it makes more sense to keep them by the Firefox dropdown menu.
