iPad: How to Clear Safari’s Cache, History, and/or Cookies

If you have problems with web pages loading correctly on your device, or just want to keep others from seeing where you are surfing, here’s how to clear the information from your iPad’s Safari web browser.

1. Select Settings.

2. Select Safari.

3. In the right column, towards the bottom of the list, locate Clear History, Clear Cookies and Clear Cache. Select the desired button.

4. A confirmation window will appear, select Clear.

    Doesn’t work. Following the steps above doesn’t clear cookies, cache or history in Safari.

    Thank you, it worked like a charm. You may need to mention that you have to press the button on the face of the IPad to get to the Settings icon, though. I just got this IPad and it took a little figuring out, but once that hurdle was overcome, it worked quite well.

    Figured that much out on my own. Cleared out all the cookies, cache and history fine. But then why is it when you next go back to Safari and start typing http://www... you get suggested sights that of course come from your browsing history?!!
    I’ve tried switching off the Autofill, and the Always show bookmarks Bar is Off too.
    What gives?

    Remove undesirable URLs from the bookmark and try the above procedure again. I’ve tried it and it works!
