If you are a Firefox user and Google Reader is your RSS feed reader, you normally have to take an extra step of choosing how you want the feed displayed, either on your Google homepage or in Google Reader. By making a couple of simple changes in the about:config settings, you can click on an RSS feed and preview it directly in Google Reader, one step away from subscribing to the feed.

1. Open Firefox.

2. Go to the address bar and input about:config.

3. Click through the warning window.

4. Locate browser.contentHandlers.types.2.uri. Double-click it to open it and change the value to:
http://google.com/reader/preview/*/feed/%s

5. Locate browser.contentHandlers.auto.application/vnd.mozilla.maybe.feed. Double-click it to open it and change the value to:
http://google.com/reader/preview/*/feed/%s

6. Restart Firefox.
