Typically, Windows 7 will detect when an iPhone is connected to the computer and will walk the user through the transfer steps through Window’s autoplay feature. However, if this automatic process does not work for you, there is a manual way to copy the pictures and videos as well.

When Windows 7 notices that you have plugged in your iPhone via the USB cable, a wizard will appear that will help you with the transfer of your pictures and videos. The first autoplay feature gives the option to Import Pictures and Videos to folders of your choice. Alternatively, autoplay allows you to View Files which allows you to drag and drop pictures like any other generic USB device.

However, since many people find the Windows 7 autoplay mechanism annoying and thus have disabled it, this tech-recipes tutorial will describe the steps required for moving media from your iPhone to your Win 7 box without using autoplay.

1.Connect your iPhone to your computer using the standard USB cable.

2.Click on the Computer option within your Start menu.

3.If this is the first time you have connected your iPhone, you may have to wait for the various drivers and software to automatically install first. Your iPhone should appear as a Portable Device. Right-click on the Apple iPhone icon and select Import pictures and videos.
