Microsoft has released a plug-in that shows a graphical representation of the weather. This tutorial describes how to get this plug-in and how to get weather data from Windows Desktop Search as well.

MSN and Microsoft have released a weather plug-in for the Bing Toolbar in IE.

If you would like to be able to check the weather from your Windows Desktop Search, paste this into your Desktop Search box:

@weather,http://weather.com/weather/local/$w

Then to search, you would just type weather zipcode into your Desktop box, with “zipcode” being your actual zipcode. For example, to pull up the weather in Asheville, NC, you would type the following:

weather 28814

If you always wanted to pull up one zip code, you could lock the zip code into the original shortcut. For example, this shortcut called myweather would always pull up Asheville’s weather:

@myweather,http://weather.com/weather/local/27713
