If you know somebody’s cell phone number, you can email them SMS messages thanks to a new service.

Previously I have discussed how to send SMS messages with AIM.

Elric428 over at describes a new site that allows you to use email to send SMS messages to any SMS-capable phone. now provides this wonderful service. To use teleflip just email the SMS message to the following email address:

[email protected]

Just replace 1112223333 with the cellphone number that you want to receive the SMS message.

With this service, you no longer have to remember the complex email format that each individual cell company uses. Remember that many cellphone users are charged for incoming SMS messages… so be polite.
