Vista: Saving Custom Themes

When a theme is applied to the Vista desktop, settings such as color schemes, screen saver, sounds, mouse cursors, and wallpaper are affected. There might be aspects of the newly installed theme you do not like. Make the changes to your settings and save it as a new theme so you will have it for future use. Here’s how to save your settings to a new theme…

1. Right-click your desktop and select Personalize.

2. Click Theme.

3. The Theme Settings dialog box will appear.

4. Select Save As.

5. In the Save As dialog box, enter the name for the theme definition file.

6. Click OK.

7. Your custom theme will now appear in the Theme list box so you can easily select it at any time.
