Gmail: Google releases Gmail Notifier

Tagged: Google Google has released a new utility that allows the user to be notified when they get new email in their gmail.com account.
Several gmail notifier programs have been released on the net for a while. Most of these were clunky hacks that scanned the account. Google has released a much nicer notify program.
It installs like a breeze and will show up in your system tray. Whenever you get a new email in your gmail account, a brief summary will flash above your system tray.
A nice addition is that the program will redirect all your mailto: clicks to your gmail account. This can be turned on or off.
