By default, Windows 7 allows themes to change mouse pointers. If you enjoy using various themes to customize the look of your Windows 7 interface, but don’t want to change the mouse cursors that you have selected, you can prevent changes by following these steps.

1. Right-click your desktop and select Personalize from the resulting menu.

2. In the left pane, select Change mouse pointers.

3. When the Mouse Properties window appears, go to the bottom of the Pointers tab and uncheck the Allow themes to change mouse pointers checkbox.

4. Click the OK button.
