Windows 7: Make Aero Perform Faster

Disable Transparency

1. Right-click your desktop and click Personalize.

2. Go to the bottom of the window and click Window Color.

3. Uncheck the Enable transparency checkbox.

4. Click Save changes.

5. Close the Personalization window.

Disable the Animation for minimizing and maximizing windows

1. Right-click Computer and select Properties.

2. Select Advanced system settings from the left pane.

3. Under Performance, click the Settings button.

4. Under the Visual Effects tab, uncheck the Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing checkbox.

5. Click OK.

    Linux is not ugly. Linux is a damn sight more pretty than Windows will ever be, at much less of a cost to your system performance. Ever heard of Compiz Fusion? Google it.
