Firefox 3: Shrink the Over-sized Back Button

One thing I dislike about Firefox 3 is that the specialized themes for Windows XP and Vista both leave you with a Back button that is out of proportion with the other buttons on the toolbar. You can tame the oversized button by following this Tech-Recipe.

1. Open Firefox 3.

2. Right-click on the toolbar and select Customize.

3. Check the Use Small Icons checkbox, located at the bottom of the window.

The Back button is now in proportion with the other buttons, and no longer looks out of place.

Cool! I just got a new netbook and that tip just gave me a little more viewing area. You wouldn’t think the icon size would make that much difference but with these baby sized screens every little bit helps. I hadn’t thought of changing the icon size.

but, how to go smaller ? Icons only is thinner vs. Text only

I’m only using 3 bars on top – big blue, a combo of address + Nav., & Tabs
And one on bottom (status bar ?)

any ideas to shrink all icons ?
