Save Your ISP Dialup Settings in Windows XP

Every time I reinstall Windows, I always forget to save my ISP information. An easy method exists for saving this information into a small file.

1. Load regedit
2. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER RemoteAccess key
3. From the File menu select Export
4. This will open up the save menu. In the “Export Range” box make sure the correct “selected branch” is selected.
5. Save the registry file (*.reg extension)

Loading this reg file will import your ISP settings into the registry. I think this is much easier than trying to write down your dial-up number, server names, dns entries, etc.
