OneNote 2010: Improve Battery LIfe by Optimizing Settings

OneNote runs several operations in the background such as indexing, notebook syncing and handwriting recognition. These can place an unnecessary drain on your battery if you don’t need these constantly running. By modifying the default setting, you can improve battery life and conserve some of that power for other tasks.

1. Open OneNote.

2. Go to the Ribbon, click File and select Options.

3. In the left pane, select Advanced.

4. In the right pane, scroll down to the Battery Options section.

5. Use the Optimize for the following battery life dropdown to select the desired setting. Choices are Maximum performance, Short, Medium, Long, and Maximum battery life.

6. Click the OK button.
