Ad-Aware 2007: Enable Automatic Definitions File Update for Auto Scans

When it comes to removing spyware from your computer, it can be imperative to have the latest definitions files in order to remove the nasty files from you machine. Auto scans in Ad-Aware, by default, do not check for the latest definitions file prior to scanning your system. To enable the automatic retrieval of the definition file prior to performing the Auto Scan, follow these steps:

1. Open Ad-Aware 2007.

2. Click Settings.

3. Select the Auto Scans tab.

4. Select Update Definitions File before scanning so that the red X changes to a green checkmark.

5. Click the Save button.

Ad-Aware will now check for updates to the Detection Database and download the new definitions file prior to scanning.
