Youtube: Turn off Text or Annotations for Videos

Posted February 22, 2009 by David Kirk in Internet

Youtube thought it would be just great to allow anybody and everybody to put comments within a video. Often it is just annoying. Here is how to disable these annotations or text comments within the youtube video.

Please, please… let us disable all of this text markup of our youtube videos.

1. Log into youtube. Click on your account link in the upper right hand corner.

Now, all the annotations will be disabled from the videos you watch. Remember this setting will only work while you are logged in.
