Firefox: Disable the Download History

By default, Firefox keeps a history of what you've downloaded. While you could constantly maintain this list to keep it cleaned up, it is much easier to disable the download history.

First you'll want to clean up the current download history.

1. Click Tools and select Downloads.



2. Click the Clean Up button at the bottom of the Downloads window.
This will clear the download history.




Now you need to disable the Download history to prevent a new list of Downloads from being built.

1. Click Tools and select Options.



2. Select Privacy from the top of the Options window.



3. In the History section, uncheck the Remember what I've downloaded checkbox.



4. Click the OK button.
