Tablet PC: Disable the Tablet Input Panel

To remove the Tablet Input Panel from the taskbar you can unregister the code that causes it to be automatically loaded when Windows starts. Do the following:


1. Click the Start button.

2. Select Run.

3. Type the following: regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink\tipband.dll"
4. Click OK.

5. Reboot

To restore the Tablet Input Panel:

1. Click the Start button.

2. Select Run.

3. Type the following: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink\tipband.dll"
4. Click OK.

5. Reboot

    The Module “C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedInktipband.dll” was loaded but the call DLLunregisterServer failed with error code 0×80004005.
