Winamp 5: Enhancing The Appearance of Modern Skins

Some Winamp skins allow for enhanced visual effects on Windows 2000 and Windows XP systems by supporting Desktop Alpha Blending, This mode can provide smoother edges and enhanced shadow effects. This can improve the look of skins that seem to have jagged edges. The downside to this mode is that it is CPU intensive, so if you are running a slower machine, you should opt to not use this mode. To enable Desktop Alpha Blending, do the following:

1. Right-click on the Winamp 5 title bar.

2. Click Options.

3. Select Preferences.

4. Under Skins (in the left pane) click on Modern Skins.

5. Select the Alpha Blending tab in the right pane.

6. Check the Enable Desktop Alpha Blending (when requested by skin) checkbox.

7. Click Close.
