How to disable all taskbar modifications in Windows XP Home. This will disable the option to unlock the taskbar.

It has come to my attention that XP home is missing a few registry folders and options that Pro has, so here’s a modification for XP Home that prevents taskbar modifications.

If you are not comfortable editing the registry, please don’t try this.

First, right click the system tray and check Lock Taskbar first.

Next, open Regedit and go to path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer
and create a DWORD key: LockTaskBar double click and set value to 1

Now the option to unlock the taskbar is not available!

I have tried the above method but every time got to the regedit it says “Windows cannot find…Unable to locate the …….XXX”
My task bar is completely hidden and unchecking the auto hide option at the properties is not working. Is there a way to enable the taskbar?
