Leopard Mail: Create New Stationery

In the new version of OS X, Mail has now gained the ability to create and use stationery. This tutorial will highlight how to create and save a new stationery theme in Leopard.

I am not sure if I love it or hate it. Mail has now gained the most evil component of html email — stationery. What Outlook made painful, Leopard now brings to all of the Apple community.

I can see some good uses for it. For example, say you send out a themed announcement once a month. You can save and create your stationery for reuse.

Here is how to get started with Stationery creation in Leopard’s Mail:

1. Create a new message

2. Click the Photo Browser button.

3. Navigate to and select the photo you want to include within your stationery.

4. Add any text that you want saved into your stationery. If you are just using an image as a background, you may not want to save text into you stationary.

5. In the File menu, select Save as Stationery…

6. Name your stationery and save it.

7. Now, you can add your stationery to your emails and drive people crazy with cute pictures of your puppies, kittens, or whatever.
