Excel 2007: Use the Watch Window to Monitor Cells

Monitoring the values of certain cells can be a real headache if you are dealing with a large spreadsheet. Fortunately, Excel has a feature that makes things much easier. The Watch Window can display the value of any cell or cells in a window that can be moved to any location on your screen. To use the Watch Window…

1. Go to the Ribbon and select the Formulas tab.

2. In the Formula Auditing section, select Watch Window.

3. The Watch Window will appear.

4. Click the Add Watch button to specify the cell you wish to monitor.

You can now monitor the value of the selected cell while continuing to work on any portion of the spreadsheet. You can also double-click on the cell in the Watch Window to quickly go to that cell.
