Firefox 3: Honor System Settings for Anti-Aliasing Smaller Text (OS X only)

By default, Firefox 3 uses anti-aliasing on all rendered text, regardless of the text size. However, you may want Firefox to follow the OS X system preference of turning off the anti-aliasing of smaller sized text to improve how it is displayed on your screen.

1. Open Firefox 3.

2. In the Location Bar, input about:config.

3. Click to get past the warning message that appears.

4. Locate the Preference Name gfx.use_text_smoothing_setting.

5. Double-click it and change the value to true.

6. Restart Firefox.
