Google Now: Change the Unit of Temperature

Google Now, by default, displays weather temperature on the Weather Card in degrees Fahrenheit. Users who are not familiar with this unit will have to switch to Celsius in order to utilize this feature. Fortunately, switching the temperature unit in Google Now is easy.

The Fahrenheit system is commonly used in the United States for nonscientific temperature measurements. With some exceptions, Celsius measurement are used in the remainder of the world. Until Google Now starts switching to the accepted temperature units based on location (I should patent that now), users will need to manually switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

1. Open the app drawer, and choose Google Now from the list. Alternatively, if you are using the Google Search widget, tap on it.

2a. If you do not have the weather card on the screen, tap the menu button, and choose Settings from the list.

2b. If you have the weather card on the screen, just tap the overflow icon at the top right of the card, and then choose Settings. After that, jump to step 5.

3. In the Settings screen, choose the Google Now option.

4. When you are in the Google Now section, choose the Weather option at the top to continue.

5. Tap on the Weather units option to configure it.

6. Choose either Celsius or Fahrenheit from the pop-up window.

7. Return to the main Google Now screen to see the changes.
