iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, and 5: Show Battery Percentage

Since the iphone 3GS, several nice, little features have been included in iOS. One of my favorites is the ability to show a percentage of the battery life in the upper right hand corner instead of just the battery graphic. These settings can be found on any modern iOS device including iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch devices.

More data is better, right? A numeric value gives a far better estimation of the amount of battery left when compared to the battery graphic.

Be sure that your device has been updated to one of the latest iOS versions. Then follow these steps to show your percent of device’s battery life:

1. Click Settings
2. Click General
3. Click Usage
4. Toggle Battery Percentage to ON
