Windows 7: How to Access Performance Data Using Command-Line Options

By using command-line options, you can gain immediate access to performance data about your system. This is much quicker than having to browse to the desired monitor.

1. Click the Orb (Start button).

2. Click All Programs.

3. Go into Accessories.

4. Select Command Prompt.

Execute one of the following command-line options:

perfmon /sys – This will open the Performance Monitor.

perfmon/report – Collects 60 seconds of performance data and then displays a diagnostics report.

perfmon/res – This will open the Resource Monitor.

perfmon/rel – This allows you to check out your system’s Reliability and Problem history.
