By default, when you select Messages, you see a combination list of both SMS messages and email. If you don’t like having both your email and SMS messages combined in the same Inbox, you can separate them to help keep things organized.

1. Press the menu key on your BlackBerry to display all applications.

2. Select Messages.

3. Press the menu key again to bring up the menu.

4. Scroll down the menu towards the bottom and select Options.

5. Select General Options.

6. Scroll to the very bottom of the options and select the option next to SMS and Email Inboxes. Select Separate from the list.

7. Press the menu key and select Save from the menu.

Yeah once you change the settings and sms mms icon appears in your apps. You will still have the message icon plus your email icon. Kinda silly so I just moved my email icon and the sms icon to my top 5 apps. Let me know if that makes sense. :o)
