OS X: Prevent Skype or Steam from Running at Startup
Posted June 12, 2010 by David Kirk in Apple Mac
I am a huge, huge fan of Steam’s gaming platform for OS X. However, I’m not a big fan of its running itself every time I restart my macbook. Skype likes to load at every startup as well. Here is how to disable these programs from running at every reboot.
OMG. Steam is finally on OS X. Although I have not had time to play much, I still think its amazing that Steam is bring games to the Apple platform.
As much as I love it, I don’t want it running every time I reboot my system. This goes double for skype. So here is how to stop it:
1. Go to the System Preferences on your Apple system
2. Select Accounts
3. Select Login items tab
4. Select Skype (or Steam)
5. Click the minus button
6. Close System Preferences
