The Format Painter in Excel does more than just allow you to copy cell formatting. You can also use the Format Painter to copy column widths in a worksheet. To do this, use the steps below.
1. Click the letter of the column whose width you want to copy (in the column header).
2. Double-click the Format Painter button.
3. Click or drag your pointer through the letters of the columns that need to be the same width.
4. Click the Format Painter.
