iTunes 8, 9, and 10: Properly Label Videos as Movie, TV Show, or Music Video
If you have videos that are TV Shows and they show up in Movies, or your Music Videos are in the wrong group then this tech-recipe is for you. By changing the Media Kind value in iTunes, you can have the videos properly classified in both your Library and on your iPod. Post updated as this continues to work in all versions of iTunes –including the iTunes 10.
1. Open iTunes.
2. Locate the video that needs to be changed and right-click on it.
3. Select Get Info.
4. When the new window opens, select the Options tab.
5. Use the Media Kind drop down to select the correct value. Choices are Movie, TV Show and Music Video.

6. Click the OK button.

I changed my media kind from movie to music video and now I can’t find the video?
jimmyselix said on September 8, 2010
it is actually listed under your music now, just go to Music and do a search for it and then change it back to Movie if you like :)
you can also use the playlist in iTunes to find your music videos too

sorry for late reply, yes.
just select the movies by holding ctrl and clicking on the ones you want to mass change. then right click on them and choose Get Info, it will warn you, do and OK and have at it! :)

Thank you! Is there a way to organize a bunch of video files into one collection, for example if I have episodes of a TV series I wish to group as one series? Thanks!
Robin Richard Rajan said on January 25, 2011
Yes, you can. Just select the videos you want to group together (use Ctrl key while selecting multiple files), now right-click choose “Get Info” (Click YES if it asks ‘Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items’). Now in the window, click the “Video” tab. Enter the name of the TV series in the ‘Show’ and put the season no in the ‘Season Number’ boxes. Click “OK”. Now your videos are grouped together! :)

Works great, thanks. I have 2 things i can’t fix now -
1) Under TV shows it titles it unknown (shows the artwork, puts the shows there, but i’d like to have the title of the show rather than ‘unknown’
2) I’d like to have each season as a separate tv show icon. Ive listed the details in the getinfo as season 1/2/3 but it drops all seasons into the 1 TV show listing (the one that says unknown above lol)
