You are on a system that has the content advisor enabled. You don’t like it, and don’t know the password. Here’s what to do.

This involves changing the registry. If you don’t know what you are doing, you can screw stuff up.

    1. Click Start button
    2. Click Run
    3. Type Regedit in the runbox and click OK
    4. Navigate to this key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

    5. Select the Ratings folder
    6. In the right column, right click on the icon called key.
    7. Select Delete
    8. Exit Registry

The content advisor password is now blank.

To Disable the Content Advisor:

    1. Open IE
    2. Click the Tools menu
    3. Select Internet Options
    4. Click the Content tab
    5. Click the Disable button.
    6. When asked for password, just click OK (as the password is blank)

The content advisor is now off.

When I first found this I thought 'Thank goodness I can finally get rid of all those problems with content advisor.' But then I got as far as step 4 and I couldn't find the 'ratings' folder. Please, maybe you could tell me where I went wrong or if I need to click on something else, but I would really appriciate it if somebody could help me out. Thanks!
