With one simple batch file, you can make your msn desktop search as powerful as a command prompt. Come on dos junkies, help me improve this!

I want the RUN text box intergrated into the MSN desktop search! Anything I type into this beast, I want it to either search for it or execute it. Ping, FTP, telnet, etc… all of these things work well from a comand prompt or the run box… why can I do all of these from the search box as well? I want the uber box!

To use the MSN Desktop Search as a run box, just precede your command with an equal sign.

To quickly navigate to the root of your c drive just type…
    =c:

To pull up your dos ftp program just type…
    =ftp

To navigate to a website just type…
    =”http://www.website.com”

Pretty much anything you could run from your run box can be executed in this matter.

More complex shortcuts can be built and stored using this method.

Hats off to microsoft! For old dos guys like me, this is the quickest way to navigate.
