If you are like me, you still have a few MS-DOS programs that occassionally need to run for periods of time. Being able to adjust how much of the CPU these programs receive is very nice.
1. Right-click the program's shortcut
2. Click Properties from the context menu
3. Click the Misc tab
4. Adjust the Idle Sensitivity
This tells windows how long to allow this program to be idle before taking away resources. Therefore, if you want a high amount of resources to be directed toward your app, set the sensitivity to low. If you want the program to use as little CPU as possible, set the sensitivity to high.
