When using the built-in XP CD or DVD burning software, you can change where the temporary storage files are kept to improve your burning optimization.

When burning your CDs or DVDs, XP needs plenty of unprotected space to temporarily store your files. By moving these files off your main windows drive, you will improve your burning efficiency. I particularly like to keep this storage on a seperate drive than my page file.

Here how to change where your pre CD/DVD burning temporary files are kept:

    1. Click My Computer
    2. Right-Click your CD or DVD burner drive
    3. Select Properties
    4. Click the Recording tab
    5. Change your drive with the dropdown box
    6. Click OK
