Validate information from a Solaris flash archive

Flash archives are mirrored images of a system that can be installed on another system of the same architecture. Once you have made a flash archive, you can easily get information about the archive.


To get information about the flash archive located in /export/flash/mail-server-01, use this command:

flar -i /export/flash/mail-server-01

This will generate output such as:

archive_id=beeed8006ee715c0ce321485fb6aaa91
files_archived_method=cpio
creation_date=20031006121509
creation_master=Sol8_U4
content_name=mail-server-01
files_compressed_method=none
files_archived_size=758983680
content_author=qmchenry
content_architectures=sun4u
