Frequently, users of IE6 should clear or erase their viewing history. This tutorial describes how to do this.

Window’s IE will keep a list of sites that you have visited in its history. For privacy issues it is nice to be able to erase this history.

1. Click Tools in IE’s menu
2. Select Internet Options
3. Click the General tab if it’s not already selected
4. Click the Clear History button

If you don’t want to keep a long history, change Days to keep pages in history to zero.

Erasing the AutoCompletion history is described in another recipe.

If you are still having problems, I would recommend using Anti Tracks. By using the built-in plugins, you can clear your windows, IE, Mozilla, Office, and google histories automatically. You can download a 15 day trial here. I highly recommend this.

I'm also having the same problem as Davak. There are entries in the address bar that just won't go away even after clearing files, cookies and the recent documents file.

Could it be somewhere in the favorites file? ...although I don't see it there.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    thanks.
