How we’ve been getting all this money… it’s finally become public.

Well, our little trick has finally exploded into the public. We are rich now… so get in on this while you can. Heck, leave a few more hints here as well!

This only works early in the morning when the servers first load up, and the the instance server is still loading. Heavy-loaded servers work the best.

Although I have not tested them all, these areas are known to work -Deadmines, Wailing Caverns, Scarlet Monastary, and Maraudon

Do the Dupe:

    a. Player 1 hands player 2 a large amount of gold

    b. Player 1 goes into the instance. If the bug works, he/she will get kicked back out after a delay.

    c. Player 1 will have the original amount of gold he had before he traded and player 2 will still have the traded gold he received as well.

    d. Rince and Repeat

Now, go dupe, dupe, dupe. Buy items and sell them to hide the money. Who knows what warcraft is going to do about this…

Thanks for the day of downtime and possible rollback f!@#whads, I hope every single person who used this at all gets a life long ban from the game.

    Kelbar:

I know your pain. In one of the online games I previously played, I lost 3 days of hard work due to a rollback. It was just enough to break my addiction at the time.

However, it's good that these things finally come to light I think. I would rather have a rollback than know that all of these people were continuing to cheat and cheat.

Cheating and hacking is what eventually kills a game.

I am no econmics major, BUT gold dupeing is the devil. What it does is dump extra money into the game economy, thus raising prices to point where people who don't dupe or buy gold can't buy items/services from other players. This is because dupers and gold buyers have the extra money to pay for things that others don't. Remeber, we create our own economy. It's free trade. BUT the lesson is this. We, as players, create our own supply/demand and out own market, and we are also the ones who destroy it.

servers restart every tuesday, weekly maintenance. Trying the moment they come back up is probably the time he's talking about.

This is the reason me and others I know work hard at driving the economy down. Which will result in hackers, and farmers just have a ton of gold they can do nothing with.

For example you should avoid the auction house at all cost. That place is horrid. I went to it one time looking for something simple like a good axe for my level and prices were like 10 gold for an axe to fit a lvl 20 hunter.

Instead I just went without and found some others like me to start a guild. Heck I give tons of stuff away and other stuff I sell for cheap using what I consider a standard rule.

NPC's are designed to give rock bottom prices on anything you sell to them. So when selling to another player a 100% markup to me is standard. Maybe a 150% mark-up if it's a really rare item. So lets say I take a suit of armor I made to an NPC and he offers 10 silver for it. I'll offer it for sale for 20 silver. Since a comparable item at a NPC shop if you were to purchase it would be 30+ silver.

Because the whole idea with trade and crafting is to allow another reason for players to interact with each other. I sell armor cheaper than NPC's to player who pay more than NPC's for it. So it's good for them, and it's good for me. I make extra cash for my efforts and they get a deal on what they want.

If everybody stuck to these ideals then gold farming would just mean having a whole lot of extra money and nothing to do with it.

They should just put a money sink in the game like EQ (everquest) did once they found out pople were making fake mint. They put in a NPC controlled gameing house Cost a decent amout to play and you had a Chance (hint hint) to win realy nice Uber PHAT LOOTS. Seemed to help eat some of the coinage

I remember playing games like Diablo and Diablo 2. Eventually, gold became meaningless. This was because everyone farmed the (fun) cow level for items and loot.

The new currency became a rare item called the stone of jordan (soj as it was called in-game). The basis of effective currency is belief. If you look at a £20 note, you'll see it has the words "promise to pay the bearer" on it. Jack bought those magic beans because he thought they had value.

Such is the way of a self deprecating economy. How would you apply Keynesian or laissez-faire economics to a self depracating economy?

If you take the Grandfather Greatsword as an example, it has a value beyond money. An original Grandfather back in Diablo and Diablo 2 could have made you famous.

As for duping, one mans garbage is another mans treasure. Some folk get their fun out of bending the system, others find their fun ruined by it.

Every ecconomy colapses eventually. It's all just a matter of time.

I have tried the dupe and it has only halved worked! My friend and I tried it and as he walked through the instance, our back packs said that we both had the same amount of money that we were trading. So the dupe looks like it had worked perfectly. But when he went to buy something the game said he didn't have enough money. Then after the game said he didn't have enough money it would make the duped gold disappear leaving only an average of one silver but I would still have the genuine gold. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Also once your friend is in the instance do you then kill the group so he gets hearthed back?
    Plz help
