Tech-Recipes now has integrated several social bookmarking tools into its web structure. This allows users to save, share, categorize, and tag recipes. Call it a folksonomy or feedback or whatever. We hope this makes tech-recipes more useful to our users.

Since I first learned about them, I have been a huge user and fan of the folksonomy or tagging revolution. Who cares how I as a webmaster label my content? The ways it is categorized by the people who are reading it, using it, and saving it is much more important… and likely more useful to others.

By integrating these well-established and popular tools for tagging and categorizing web content, we hope our tutorials, tweaks, and tips will become more useful to the community.

To use these services, you will need to sign up with them beforehand.

de.licio.us – This is the most popular and heavily used service. Simple, hackable, and user friendly–we love this tool and use it as our primary bookmarking service.

Furl is the gmail of social bookmarking services. You save your web site, describe it, and establish keywords. Like gmail you can easily search and you are given a ton of storage room. Furl is a great peripheral brain–you can save rarely used information and easily find it again.

Spurl is a hybrid of furl and del.icio.us. Anything added to spurl can be automatically added to del.icio.us as well. Tagging and the ease of producing RSS feeds is like del.icio.us; however, like Furl saving and searching is easily done as well. Spurl’s search engine allows searching through all the other users’ spurl collections as well.

When you read a recipe on tech-recipes that you wish to save, just click the button associated with the service that you would like to use. Clicking on this button will add the current web page to your bookmarking service. By doing this, you will ensure that you will always be able to find and reference this information quickly and easily. Likewise, you will help other users find and use this information as well!

I retain some rights to the buttons designed above. If you would like to use them, please drop me an email or private message. Likely, if you are willing to give a link back to the site, I’ll be glad to let you use them.
