Visual Studio 2005: Dock the Find and Replace and other Tools Windows

The !@#$@^@% find and replace window will not dock! Here’s the easy fix.

When I first started playing with VS 2005, I couldn’t figure out how to get the find and replace window to dock. These hints work with all the tools windows in VS.

Here’s how:

1. Right-click on the “Find and Replace” (or other tool) window
2. Select Dockable
3. Do make it floating again, repeat this process.

Hint:

To move a dockable window without it snapping into place, press CTRL while dragging it.
