XP: Place Media Player in the System Tray / New Media Bonus Pack Released

Posted May 20, 2005 by MickeyMouse in Windows

You can enjoy this package of tools and toys from Microsoft. The system tray can now be home for your Media Player.

From time to time, Microsoft releases Media Packs filled with useful features.

This one includes the new Movie Maker and add-ins, Media Library Management Wizard, Skin Importer, Playlist Import to Excel utility, and a new tray control.

The new tray control takes the Media Player’s controls and hides them in the system tray. Because the controls seemed to take up too much space on the taskbar, the system tray is a better location for them. The new try control also includes an easy way to clear the Most Recently Used (MRU) files list.

Try it out. It is free and fun.
