Solaris 10: shutdown or stop a zone

Once you have created and installed a zone under Solaris 10, you can fire it up with one simple command.


To boot a Solaris 10 zone called testzone, use the following command as root in the global zone:

zoneadm -z testzone boot

You can watch the system boot by logging into the zone’s console:

zlogin -C testzone
