AIM F2 Click Between the Stars Trick

The solution to the AIM F2 “Click between the stars” trick. And this solution works.


For all of those looking for the F2 trick, here’s the answer.

I used AIM 5.5.3595, which you can get from here (middleman.krunchsoftware.com downloads… top in list). AIM Download: http://middleman.krunchsoftware.com/dl/Install_AIM_5.5.3595.exe

Open Notepad. For those of you that don’t know how, hit Start, Run, and then type in “notepad” without the quotes.

Hit Ok. Notepad should now open.

Type in this:

[space]

[space] means put in a space. All of the [space]’s are crucial.


I’ve highlighted the space at the end. Make sure that the space is there, or else your message will have an ugly thing at the end.

Copy that text. Highlight it with your mouse, right click, and hit Copy.

Go to your AIM profile. (My AIM, Edit Profile… )

Left click where you want to put your message in your profile. You don’t have to have the [**] ’s in your profile if you don’t want to. I usually dont’, I just keep it in my profile as an “Easter egg” for other people to find. But it’s more creative than “Your Message”.

If you press F2, you should see your message.

You can change the color and stuff if you want.

    notepad is free on windows. well it comes with every windows os (even as far back as windows 95!)

    When you edit your profile in AIM, the first two options buttons from the left are font color and background color.

    wow... the trick is sooo easy, u ppl who dont get it r soo stupid. i got it on my first try...

    how bout, for a change, follow all of the directions...

    Re-Enabling HTML Code In AIM
    If you use aim 4.7 or later, you may have noticed that HTML codes don't work anymore. This means that typing hidden F2 messages ( <!-- hey there --!> ) wont be seen anymopre. Also html codes in chat rooms no longer work. To enable the html code feature yourself you will need a hex editor program such as Hex Workshop (1.75mb). First make a backup of the file ate32.dll (in AIM directory) then close AIM, and use your Hex Editor to open the file ate32.dll.

    In the hex code search for the following hex value:
    "266C 743B"
    and replace it with
    "3C00 0000"

    Then search for the following hex value:
    "616D 703B"
    and replace it with
    "0000 0000"

    Open Notepad.

    <BODY BGCOLOR="#00ffff"><FONT COLOR="#ff0000" FACE="Times New Roman"></FONT>
    [code]


    <BODY BGCOLOR="#00ffff"> represents the total background color; (window color in AIM).

    <FONT COLOR="#ff0000"> represents the color of the font. You can change the numbers in the quotations into "red", "yellow", etc. or you can do hexidonal (hope I spelled it right) numbers, which of course each number corresponds with a color, etc.

    <FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> represents the FONT, such as Arial, Comic Sans MS, etc. The viewer only sees the fonts that are installed in his system. For example;

    If you put this as the code <FONT FACE="Fox Century Font"> then if the viewer does not have this font installed (Fox Century Font), then he will see his default font (Times New Roman, most of the times).

    heyy EVERYONE! i created this program if it dosnt work for you try these steps
    1. follow all the instructions
    2. download the <span style="text-decoration:underline">new</span> A.I.M
    3. do this copy this text:
    <!--[space]Your message[space]-->[space]
    then do this
    Type in this:


    [*<!--Type your message here-->*] ( the [* on the ends are optional but i recemend doing it! )
    copy that. Once you typed your text where it says type you texe here copy it
    the this is what it should look like this
    [**]
    the one it looks like this
    [**] you say click between the star and press F2
    and it will work!

    I found out how to do it you can't just put <-- Your message --> cause that would just show nothing you half to put like *_ <--your message-->_* then tell ur friends to press f2 in between the stars!!! like mine right here *- <!-- Its actually pretty easy --> -* haha well have fun!1!

On here, you can learn how to change color of fonts, and make your typing do tricks. 8) 8) 8) -olivia

    and you replace your message with what you want it to say.you copy and paste it into your profile and wala! :D :)

    you are so stupid person who wrote quote. I still don't get it and I followed the directions. I get like the highlighting and stuff, but I don't get like clicking on your profile and press F2? It won't work.

    THIS TRICK IS AMAZING!!!
    IF IT DIDNT WORK TRY THESE STeps
    1.[*!<your message here>!*]
    2. highlite and hit control v
    3.go to edit profile on aim buddy list screen look for tab tha says my aim click it and scrool down untill u find my profile
    4.hit control v
    5.play with it different font,bigger smaller, anthing
