Turn off the Display of Startup, Shutdown, Logon, and Logoff Messages

The following tech-recipe contains a reghack to disable these common status messages.

    1. Click Start .
    2. Click Run.
    3. In the textbox, type regedit and click OK.
    4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system
    5. Click the Edit Menu.
    6. Select New and DWORD value.
    7. Select this new entry and name it: DisableStatusMessages
    5. Double-click this entry.
    6. Set value data to 1.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Close regedit and reboot


Please backup your system before editing your registry.
