Prevent IE6 Users from Using the Image Toolbar

With Internet Explorer 6.0, users now have access to the image toolbar that allows them to easily print, copy, email, save, and resize pictures. The following tech-recipe describes how to disable it.

IE6 and greater now provides the image toolbar. This allows users to easily save, resize, and manipulate pictures. In some cases, a web designer may not want them to be able to do this.

Use the following code to disable it:

    Placing in the following code will turn off the image toolbar for a whole page:
    <META HTTP-EQUIV="imagetoolbar" CONTENT="no">

    Use this code to reference an individual image with the toolbar disabled:
    <img src="whateverpicture.jpg" GALLERYIMG="no">
