Outlook 2010: Use Google Maps to Display Contact Addresses

By default, Outlook 2010 uses Bing Maps to map the addresses of your contacts. If you are a Google Maps user, you can change this so that it uses Google’s service instead.

1. Close Outlook 2010.

2. Open Notepad.

3. Copy and paste the following into Notepad:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\General]
"MapScriptURL"="http://maps.google.com/?q=<0s>, <1s>, <2s>, <3s>, <4s>"

4. Close and save the file as outlook2010_use_googlemaps.reg.

5. Double-click the newly created file to merge it into the registry.

6. When the confirmation box appears, click Yes.

7. The file will be merged to the registry. A confirmation box will appear, click OK.

8. Open Outlook and go to your contacts.

9. Open a Contact and go down to the address section and click the Map It button.

The address will be shown in Google Maps.

If you want to change back to using Bing Maps, do the following:

1. Close Outlook 2010.

2. Open Notepad.

3. Copy and paste the following into Notepad:
