Twitter: Have Direct Messages Sent to Your Cell Phone as Text Messages
Posted by Rob Rogers in Internet
If you want to make sure that you don’t miss a Direct Message (DM) from your Twitter friends, you can have Twitter send the message to your cell phone as a text (SMS) message. This recipe focuses on having just the Direct Messages forwarded to you phone and not all Twitter updates.
1. Go to Twitter and login to your account.
2. Go to the menu in the upper-right corner of the page and click Settings.

3. Select Mobile from the horizontal menu at the top of the page.
4. If you haven’t verified your cell phone with Twitter, you will need to follow the quick steps to do so (simply sending a text message from your phone to Twitter). After your phone is verified, go to Device updates and use the dropdown box. Select Direct Messages.

5. Click the Save button.
