Windows 7: How Do I View View Hidden System Files, Folders, and Drives?

Many of the expert tweaks and function in Windows 7 require viewing and manipulating the hidden system files and folders.


Remember that system files are hidden for a reason. Editing or deleting these files can cause your system to crash. Be cautious.

1. Open a Windows Explorer window
2. Select Organize
3. Click Folder and search options

4. Click View tab

5. Select Show hidden files, folders, and drives

6. If you want to show expose the hidden files and folders on your entire computer, then click Apply to Folders button and confirm. If you don’t click this, you are changing the settings for the current folder only.

7. Click OK to complete
